From brief to installation

Plans, dimensions, loads and frequency of use guide the internal construction. Valves, handles, reinforcements and material are specified for the application.
Materials and internal construction
PVC or TPU is selected according to flexibility, resistance, appearance and frequency of use. Dimensioned drawings guide the positioning of valves, handles, internal partitions, attachments and reinforcements.
Technical and comfort cushions
Protection, positioning and comfort each require their own brief. Share the intended function, dimensions, contact surfaces and operating conditions so materials, internal construction and attachments can be assessed.
Scenic cushions for image and performance
The hero photograph shows the six-metre transparent cushion fabricated for Benjamin Millepied, Richard Mille and Sorbet Magazine. This scenic example was developed for photography and film in Fontainebleau. A technical or comfort cushion is specified for its own function rather than from this artwork’s geometry.
Sealed or continuous-air construction
A mattress or cushion may use captive air in a sealed envelope or a continuous air supply, according to its function. Pressure, loads, duration, access to valves or a blower and the operating environment are assessed for that particular design.
